Django Unchained
When I woke up Chrsitmas day, the first thing I did was not open gifts, but I went to see Django Unchained. I really wanted to see the midnight show, but no theatre was showing a midnight show since it was Christmas Eve. I just couldn't wait to see this movie and this movie exceeded all my expectations.
Django Unchained was an astonshing movie. It was dramatic, comical, inspiring, amazing, and educational all at once. I'm so glad someone did a pre-civial war movie where there was no great white hope helping the slaves. I'm also glad there is a movie from a slaves point of view about slavery because America always down plays slavery. America wants people to forget and get over slavery, but when it comes to the Holocust it was a tragedy when the Holocust didn't even happen in this country. Slavery happened. We must understand and accept it. It is a big piece of American history that needs to be acknowledged and Tarantino acknowledges it in Django Unchained.
Tarantino is a genius when it comes to screenwriting and being a director. I enjoy all of Tarantino's movie, but this movie is by favorite from him. All of Tarantino's films are controversial and this movie didn't have any exceptions. Spike Lee, the film director, said he wasn't going to see Django Unchained because it is disrespectful to his ancestors. Well, I'm African-American and I didn't think this movie was disrepectful to our ancestors. I think Mr. Lee should have gone to see the movie before forming an opinion. Plus, I haven't seen Mr. Lee rush and direct any new movies, especially on slavery.
I recommend this movie for everyone to see this movie. Now a day, people are forgetting all the trials and tribulations America went through before it became America the free. We need to know our history before we know where we are going. I give it 5 stars out of 5. Before you see this movie make sure you use the restroom because you aren't going to want to miss any moment. If you are going with a friends, take turns if you have to use the restroom so you can fill each other in on what you missed.
Every actor in this movie was brilliant. I think Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, and Leonardo DiCaprio should get Academy Awards for their work. Jamie Foxx should get the Academy Award for best actor again! So, everyone go and get your ticket!

Are You Greedy?
Since the beginning of November, I have been disgusted by the terrible behavior of us humans. We are so consumed with instant gratification of material things, we have camped out, trampled people and even shoot at others to get our fix. It seems as though people have become like crack feens over materialistic things, its nauseating. Its just we are so greedy that we can't see that Christmas is all about love, being & spending time with family, and celebrating the birth of Jesus.
Actually, greed has nothing to do with money. Greed is when you take more than what you need. We bust our butts for a 40hr or more a week job and still complain about what we don't have. We also spaz out when funds are low, but what will you actually do if you were that 1% who have all that money and power? Would you be happy? Would you go against your morals and your beliefs?
I have to confess, I have been complaining. I have been complaining that I don't make enough money. I have been feeling like I'm a disappointment because I haven't found the right job for me and I'm not using my degree at all. I have also been feeling like why am I still at my parents house? What is the point of disability if its at a set rate?
What I and many other people don't notice, is that I don't need to complain. God has always provided for all my needs and most of my wants. Many people can't find a job and I'm lucky to work for myself. I'm still at my parents house because I'm on disability, and I do have a plan to be on my own. I'm should be grateful to be on disability because my medical condition has made it so that I can't work a 40hr week.
So, this Christmas we need to learn to see the little things. We should open our eyes and see the glass half full instead of half empty. God, family, and friends should be all that counts in life. If you give a gift, its the thought that counts. The gift doesn't have to be as much as your rent. All I want to do is be able to live comfortably and I'm doing exactly that! I never want to compromise my morals and beliefs just for a status. I'm right where I need to be. I hope you are too.
God is Always with You!
Since Friday, the nation has been horrified and deeply sadden of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. I, myself, started shaking because I just can't believe a man is so evil as to kill innocent babies because he was angry towards his mother. Then the next day I heard that a crazy man in China went and started slicing up innocent elementary kids on the same day as the Connecticut shooting. These 22 children did survive but they sustained severe wounds to be kept in the hospital.
Many people have questioned, Where was God? If you don't know, you should know God is omnipresent. He is everywhere and he will be with you wherever you go. The reason why people questioned about the location of God is because we, as a nation, have idolized materialistic things and celebrities so much we don't even notice God until something tragic happens.
I want you to know that God didn't cause this and he didn't want this to happen. What people don't understand that God gives us free will to do and be who we are as people. When tragic things happen, it is someone's will and wants being pushed onto others. This is that time. These men were so angry that they took their want for someone to hurt, because they were hurting, too far. God was there because he shielded his children by sending their brave teacher. God was there when he sent the police and the medical attendants. Stop always thinking God has to show us this grand movement, when it is really the small things you should pay attention to about God's love.
We need to open our eyes and see God is with us always. If you don't know God or have a High Power, you should start today. I have just finished reading Discover The Power Within You by Eric Butterworth. I recommend this book to everyone, no matter what religion. This book talks about the divine being within everyone. We already have the confidence and the knowledge about living in abundance, we just have to learn how to tap into it. We no longer have to go and find ourselves. All we need to do is just take a deep look in ourselves and we will find ourselves.
We don't need to kill anyone, let alone babies. If you have an anger issue, go do something constructive, like boxing, to turn the negative energy to positive. Also, you can go to therapy or go to support groups. We all get angry sometimes. It is all about how deal and solve the anger problem, than to act upon it. I hope we learn to treat each other better because God put us here on earth to help one another. God loves you unconditionally, love each other the same.
