A New Year!

Hi everyone. I'm so grateful to be blessed to see a New Year! The old events of last year are behind me and now I'm looking forward to the new events of this new year. Every year I, we, make new year's resolutions and seem to never keep them. We get disappointed in ourselves and just stop moving forward. So, I decided in 2007, I would do something that would not only help me reach my goals, but never disappoint myself.

I decided to create a vision board. I was watching an Oprah show, when it was on, one week and I saw this woman had created a vision board. The board was pictures of goals she had for herself and wanted to obtain in her life. It worked! So, I was at a turning point in life. I wanted to my Bachelor's degree to be useful in my life and I just wanted to get health insurance so my health would not continue to deteriorate. I wanted to be in a meaning relationship with someone who would be faithful to me only and be trustworthy. I had these God given talents and wanted to be able to use them the way God intended. So, I created my own vision board.

It took me until 2011 for my vision board to come into fruition because there were somethings and people I needed to get out of my life. I'm a loyal person who holds onto society's view of life and people because I have learned not take anything and/or anyone for granted. But I had to realize not everyone was supposed to go with me on my journey like my mom and uncle Greg told me. Trying to reach society's goals for myself was driving me insane. I had to come to grips that society's goals and my goals were totally different. In order for me to keep sane, I had to choose to obtain my goals for my life! I also had to learn how to be still and wait on God. The waiting part was hard for me because I felt I always seemed to get the short end of the stick. God taught me by waiting, I would get whatever I need and desire from him in due time.

When you make your vision board, you can't show everyone. You can show the people you trust like your mom and/or best friend. Some people are just going be haters. There are some people who just don't want to see anyone succeed as long as they aren't in the high position they feel they should have.Your vision has to be marinated before it comes into fruition, so you have to wait. While you are waiting, you should go and help those in need. You can help by donating clothes, volunteer at a soup kitchen, give a friend a ride to work, be a listener to a friend or family member, adopt a pet, etc. Helping others will not only make you feel good about yourself, but it will also help you get the blessings God has in store for you.

So, instead of making resolutions, make a vision board. This way, you can see how many goals you can accomplish in the year. You will not accomplish all your goals in a year, but you will not disappoint yourself. Get rid of the dead weight of society's view of you and malicious people out so you can move forward positively in your life.Understand, your other goals are on the way and you will be able to have a fulfilling life God has always wanted for you. Make your board today!

A New Year

Ladies and gentlemen, we have come upon a New Year! Since the New Year I have learned much about life. Never take your life for granted. In the past 24hrs two young men I knew, one 16 & one 28, have died. Life is short. You have to stop and look at what kind of life you live because whatever energy you give off to the universe, positive or negative, it come back to you. The life I want to live is the one God intended for me.

I have learned, the more material things you accumulate makes you the envy of all, according to the human society. But if you want your soul to be with God when you die, you need to form a strong relationship with God. So what, you missed a sunday or two at church. Church is a place for you to worship God and fellowship with others while you worship God. The church building is just a building. You can have church anywhere. Jesus said in Matthew 18:20, "For where two or three gathered in my name, there I am with them."

On another note, who are we to say which religion is right or wrong? I think the many different religions are just a division and diversion to get the human race to think one religion is better than the other, instead of coming together. With all the tragedies happening around the world in the last decade, God is trying to tell us how we need each other more than we think. We need to stop harming one another over stupid things. We need to look at what we are doing, change ourselves, and then help others.

This New Year, I don't have any resolutions. I just pray to God I become a Proverbs 31 woman and I treat people how I want to be treated. No more looking in the past. Life is too short. I just need to focus on the present and have faith and hope for my future.

What are you planning to do for the New Year? Pleas tell me. I would love to know.

New Year!

Hi everyone. I know it has been 3 months since I have written a blog, but I'm still here! Its a new year and last year was pretty rough for me. I had never seen so many people I knew die last year. I started getting depressed because I felt, if I die, would it be too soon? Would I have impacted people's lives? Will I have done much that God would be satisfied? I just learned that life is so precious and we need to learn to appreciate the people here on earth that are around us and know.

Now that 2011 has begun, it was a rough start. I had to go and take care of family and it had tested my patience. The lessons I have learned from this experience are:
(1) If someone is willing to help you, take the help and learn how to trust.
(2) Make sure I have lived life to the fullest because regrets can make you a cranky & nasty person.
(3) Lastly, everyone in your family is valuable and try to learn about them because you can't go anywhere in life until you know your history.

So, I'm still single and the weirdest thing has happened to me. 2 guys that I have had a relationship in the past have tried to get back with me. Its like they had an epiphany because they say they knew I was a good girl and now they want to be with me. WTF? So, one of them is pissed at me because I don't call him. He told me that he's not the boyfriend type and he kept calling me at 4am. So I told him please stop calling me because I'm not a booty call. Lastly, when my grandma past this idiot texted me on the day of the funeral and asked me what I was doing. I told him I was at my grandma's funeral, all he said was ok. We buried her last April and I didn't hear from until August. So, you know that relationship is done. The second guy is something else. I went out with him in college and he cheated on me with a girl. Now they have 2 kids and he wants me back. What do you think?

Now I have begun a new lifestyle change for the new year. I'm going on a cruise for my 30th in November and I want to look good. So, last week in Charlotte when we were all were stuck in the house for a few days, may not have been the best time for me to start this change. But in reality I think it was a good thing. It was a test to see if I was going to eat fruit instead of eating what I really wanted was the chips and the ice cream. I have to keep the focus though.

So, now I'm hoping all the craziness is behind me and my 29th year is not going to be filled with drama. Thanks for letting me share with you.
